- Blue Monday, and Finding Small Pockets of Joy in January
By the time Blue Monday comes around, January has usually settled in properly. The excitement of Christmas has passed, routines are back, and the year suddenly feels long again. For some people, this point in the month brings a noticeable dip in energy or mood. For others, it just feels flat or heavy rather than actively low. I don’t see Blue Monday as something that needs fixing or pushing through. It’s more of a pause point. A moment to notice how you’re actually feeling, without judging it or expecting yourself to be anywhere else. Joy at this time of year rarely looks big or loud. More often, it shows up as small moments of ease. Feeling a little more present. Enjoying something simple. Feeling supported rather than driven. This is where crystals can be useful, not as a solution, but as a quiet support alongside rest, routine, and self awareness. What Joy Can Look Like in January January joy isn’t about excitement or motivation. It’s about steadiness. Many people feel pressure to be upbeat, focused, or productive once the new year begins. When that doesn’t happen, it’s easy to assume something is wrong. In reality, this part of winter is often slower and more inward. Reigniting joy doesn’t mean forcing positivity. It means creating space for small moments that feel lighter, calmer, or more supportive, and allowing those to be enough. Crystals can help here because they give you something physical to return to. Something grounding, familiar, and steady when your energy feels low or scattered. Crystals That Can Support Lightness and Ease The crystals I often suggest around Blue Monday are ones people commonly find supportive when they want to feel a little lighter or more connected to themselves, without pushing for a particular emotional state. Citrine Citrine is often associated with warmth and optimism. Some people like to keep it nearby during the day, especially if their energy feels low or their mood feels flat. It can act as a reminder to notice what is already working, rather than focusing on what feels heavy. Sunstone Sunstone is sometimes chosen when people want support with confidence or motivation. It’s not about forcing energy, but about gently encouraging engagement with the day. Keeping Sunstone on a desk or in a pocket can be a simple way to reconnect with that. Rose Quartz Rose Quartz is linked with self compassion. January can be a time when people are hard on themselves for not feeling motivated or enthusiastic. Working with Rose Quartz can support a kinder internal dialogue. Many people place it by the bed or hold it during quiet moments. Carnelian Carnelian is often used when energy feels low or stuck. Some people find it helpful when they want a sense of movement or engagement without overstimulation. Carrying it with you or placing it somewhere visible can help bring attention back to your body and energy. Keeping Crystal Work Simple You don’t need to work with several crystals at once. In fact, choosing one and staying with it for a few days often feels more supportive. Pick the crystal you’re drawn to and keep it somewhere you’ll naturally interact with it. Let it be a quiet presence rather than something you have to actively work with. If you notice your mood dipping, pause and hold the crystal for a moment. Take a few steady breaths. There’s no need to change how you feel. Just notice it. Joy doesn’t always arrive when you’re looking for it. Sometimes it shows up once you stop trying to manufacture it. Support Without Pressure In my energy healing and sound healing work, January is often less about big emotional breakthroughs and more about regulation. Helping the body and nervous system settle after a busy end to the year. When things feel calmer internally, moments of lightness often return on their own. That might look like sleeping better, feeling more present, or simply feeling less weighed down. Crystals, sound, rest, and routine all work together here. None of them are quick fixes. They’re forms of support that create the conditions for things to shift naturally. A Steady Way Through Blue Monday If Blue Monday feels difficult for you, you’re not alone. And if it passes without much impact, that’s fine too. Rather than trying to label or force the day to mean something, it can be more helpful to treat it as a reminder to slow down, check in, and offer yourself a bit more support. Working with crystals at this time of year isn’t about chasing joy. It’s about making space for it to return in its own time, often quietly, often unexpectedly. That’s usually enough.
- Christmas Crystals for a Calmer, Kinder Festive Season
Christmas looks and feels different for everyone. Some people dive straight into the excitement. Others feel tired, stretched, emotional, or a bit all over the place. Most of us sit somewhere in the middle. It’s a lovely season, but it’s full, and it can easily push you past your limit without you noticing. This is the time of year when people start asking me which crystals genuinely help at Christmas, and the truth is, you don’t need a big collection. A handful of well-chosen stones can support the different moods and moments December brings. These five are the ones I come back to every single year. Obsidian Obsidian For grounding, steadiness and not absorbing everyone else’s stress. Obsidian is the crystal I reach for when life feels loud. Christmas can come with family dynamics, busy shops, full calendars, and a lot of emotional noise. Obsidian helps you feel more anchored in yourself rather than swept up in everything happening around you. Keep a piece in your pocket or bag when you know the day is going to be full on. Pink Amethyst Pink Amethyst For softness, comfort and a little emotional breathing space. Pink Amethyst is perfect for the side of Christmas that feels tender. The nostalgia, the memories, the tiredness, the slight emotional wobble that creeps in when you’ve been doing too much. It has that soothing, “take a breath” quality without being heavy. Lovely beside the bed or somewhere you sit to unwind in the evening. Citrine Citrine For a gentle lift when your energy has dipped. December can flatten even the most organised person. Between late nights, early mornings, social plans, and wrapping up the year, your energy naturally dips. Citrine gives a warm, steady uplift, the kind that helps you get moving again without pushing yourself too hard. Keep it on your desk or where you start your day. Clear Quartz Clear Quartz For clarity when your head feels full. Clear Quartz is the go-to stone when you feel mentally cluttered. Christmas can scatter your thoughts in ten different directions, and having a Clear Quartz nearby helps bring things back into focus. It’s ideal when you’re trying to get organised, plan your week, or simply decide what matters and what can wait. Celestite Celestite For peace, quiet moments and calmer evenings. Celestite has a naturally calming, “exhale” feel to it. It’s lovely for the evenings when you finally sit down and realise how tired you are. Many people find it helps settle the nervous system a bit, especially in weeks where you’re running on adrenaline. It works beautifully in bedrooms or anywhere you want a bit of calm. Simple ways to use your Christmas crystals You don’t need a ritual. You don’t need to meditate for half an hour. Use them in the most practical ways. A few ideas: Keep one in your pocket while you’re out and about. Hold a stone for a minute before heading into a stressful situation. Place a calming crystal by your bed for better wind-down time. Keep a small set near a candle or cosy corner you use to relax. Pick one intuitively each morning based on how you feel. Crystals aren’t there to fix everything. They just offer a tiny shift, a bit of steadiness, or a moment of calm. In December, that can make a real difference. A gentle final note If Christmas feels heavier or more emotional this year, you’re not the only one. This season brings pressure as much as it brings joy. These five crystals are the ones I use myself because they support the real, everyday parts of December, not the picture-perfect version. I’ll be offering more workshops and sessions in the new year for anyone who wants to work with crystals in a simple, practical way. For now, I hope these help you find little pockets of calm throughout the month.
- Vision Boards and Crystals for the Year Ahead
January always arrives with a strange mix of expectation and pressure. Everywhere you look there are messages telling you to set ten goals, reinvent yourself, get organised, get motivated, get everything together by the end of week one. It’s a lot. And it’s not especially helpful. The truth is, most of us need a moment to simply breathe after December. To slow down, get our energy back in order, and check in with ourselves before we start deciding what we want the whole year to look like. That’s why I like vision boards, but only when they’re approached gently. No strict rules. No deadlines. No pressure. Just a calm way to explore what you’re drawn to and what you’d like more of in your life. Why vision boards can work so well I’ve been making vision boards for years, and I’ve always found that they shift something quietly in the background. For me, it’s not about manifesting in a big dramatic way. It’s more about noticing what keeps pulling at you. Sometimes a picture stands out because it reflects a feeling you’ve been ignoring. Sometimes it highlights something you’ve been wanting for ages but haven’t said out loud yet. When clients come to see me in January, they often tell me they feel stuck or unsure where to start. A vision board gives you a way to check in with yourself without overthinking. Once you’ve slowed down enough to notice what you’re drawn to, the year ahead starts to feel less overwhelming. And this is where crystals can gently support the process. How crystals help you tune in Crystals aren’t there to make decisions for you. They won’t do the work for you either. But they can help you create a clearer, steadier space in yourself, which is exactly what you need when thinking about the year ahead. When you’re sitting down with a pile of magazines, a cup of tea, and a quiet moment, having a few crystals nearby can help you feel a bit more centred and receptive. Here are the ones I find most helpful for vision boards. Clear Quartz Clear Quartz Clear Quartz is brilliant for clarity. It’s the crystal I pick up when I’m not sure what I want, or when everything feels a bit muddled. Many people find that having Clear Quartz nearby helps them get clearer on what feels important for the year ahead. Citrine Citrine Citrine is ideal if you want to gently invite more motivation back in. Not the intense kind, but the steady energy that helps you take small, manageable steps forward. Calcite Calcite Calcite is wonderful for shifting stuck energy. If last year felt heavy or you’re still carrying a bit of emotional clutter, calcite can help you feel more open and ready for new ideas. Green calcite is soothing, honey calcite helps with confidence, and blue calcite is lovely for easing overthinking. Pyrite Pyrite Pyrite is great for confidence and decision-making. If you’re going into the new year wanting to feel more certain in yourself or more willing to take action, pyrite is a brilliant crystal to keep nearby. Obsidian Obsidian Obsidian is one of my favourites in January. It helps you let go of what you don’t want to bring into the new year. It’s grounding, steady, and ideal for anyone who wants to feel more protected and contained. Green Moonstone Green Moonstone Green Moonstone supports intuition in a very gentle way. It can help you tune into what actually feels right for you, rather than what you feel expected to want. It’s a lovely companion when you’re building a vision board based on how you want the year to feel. Creating your vision board You don’t need anything elaborate. A couple of magazines, a handful of printed images, some words that stand out to you, and a quiet half hour is more than enough. Let it be easy. Spread everything out, hold the crystals you’re drawn to, and see what comes up. Some people like to sit with their crystals first before choosing images. Others build the board and then pick up a stone that matches the mood. Do whatever feels natural. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. What matters is the feeling behind it. What do you want more of this year. More rest. More connection. More creativity. More stability. More joy. These are the things to pay attention to. Looking ahead with a softer mindset If you decide to make your own vision board this year, let it be enjoyable. Light a candle, put on some music, and give yourself permission to slow down. If you want to explore crystals or energy work more deeply, I’ll be running sessions and workshops throughout the year where we go into this in a more hands-on way. However you begin the year, go gently. There’s no rush. One steady step at a time is more than enough.
- Inside Our Christmas Crystal Mandala Workshop at The Grove, Watford
Christmas is a busy season for most of us, so stepping into the warm stillness of The Grove’s Tranquillity Room felt like the perfect moment to slow down, breathe, and create with intention. The spa has that cosy, calming feel at this time of year. Soft lighting, quiet corners, and that sense of being away from the rush even though you’re only a few steps from it. When Hannah from Drops of Joy Mandalas and I were invited to be part of The Grove’s Christmas shopping event, we were genuinely honoured. It felt like such a gentle way to start December, and the team wanted something grounding and meaningful for their members. A mandala and crystal grid evening couldn’t have been a better fit. Starting with mandalas Hannah opened the evening by sharing a little about her process. Her work is calming to watch, but there’s also a deeper layer to it. She infuses each unique piece with energy, and the way she creates them dot by dot means she never fully knows what the final pattern will be until it emerges. That alone had everyone listening closely. Everyone had a mandala waiting for them as they sat down. We’d already placed them around the room, so each guest naturally found the one that felt right for them. It was lovely to watch. The mandala chose them, rather than the other way round. Mandalas have a way of drawing you inward without you having to try. They steady your mind and focus your attention, which is why they work so beautifully with crystal grids. Choosing crystals that felt right for each person Once everyone had settled, we moved on to the crystals. I brought a selection that works perfectly during December, especially with everything this time of year tends to stir up emotionally. Some people want grounding before the Christmas rush. Some want a sense of protection. Others want a lift in energy or mood. It is always interesting to notice what people reach for when they’re not overthinking it. The choices always seem to match what they’re feeling, even if they don’t realise it straight away. Building the grids together With the mandalas in front of them and crystals chosen, I showed everyone how to begin building their grids. There’s a simple structure to creating a grid properly, and we followed that together, with each person placing their crystals. I guided the group through infusing their grid with intention. A quiet moment, a clear thought, and a bit of stillness is all you need. If anyone wants to dive deeper into the process, you can join one of my future workshops or email me. Once everyone was happy with their layout, I guided the group through infusing their grid with energy and intention. It doesn’t need to be complicated. A clear intention and a moment of presence are enough. Crystals for the Christmas season December brings up all sorts of feelings for people, and the crystals reflected that perfectly. Some guests wanted to feel energised again. Others needed grounding or a sense of protection. Quite a few said they wanted more softness around their month, which is where Rose Quartz, Angelite, and Green Aventurine are lovely. One guest said she hadn’t taken a proper breath in weeks. This was the first time she’d stopped long enough to notice how she felt. That stayed with me. These practices might look simple, but when you give yourself a bit of space, they can support you more than you expect. Looking ahead to next year By the end of the evening, everyone packed up their grids so carefully. Once a grid has been infused with intention, you can take it apart and still hold the energy of what you set. It can be rebuilt at home whenever you want to reconnect with it. Hannah and I are already talking about more workshops together next year. If you’d like to know when the next one is planned, just send me an email and I’ll make sure you’re the first to hear.
- Crystal Advent Calendars and Crackers
Crystal Advent Calendars and Crackers There’s something special about slowing down before December begins. The season often arrives with excitement, celebration and, for many, a little too much noise. That’s why I love creating ways to bring more calm and connection into it, small rituals that remind us to pause and breathe amidst the rush. This year, I’ve put together a limited collection of Crystal Advent Calendars as a gentle way to bring a little peace into your month. Each one holds 24 tumble stones , chosen with care for their soothing and uplifting energy. It’s not just a calendar. It’s 24 days of quiet magic and a moment each morning to connect with yourself before the day begins. The crystals inside are chosen to support grounding, calm and balance, helping you stay centred during one of the busiest times of the year. I think of it as a daily act of care, something just for you. Advent Calendars, each with 24 tumble stones Each advent calendar is £80 and ready to go, filled with a thoughtful mix of crystals to carry you through the season. If you’d like something more personal, I’m also offering a bespoke version where you can choose the stones yourself. You might fill it with your favourite crystals or select ones that align with the energy you’d like to invite in for the year ahead. Alongside the advent calendars, I’ll also have Crystal Christmas Crackers available. These have become a favourite tradition for many of my clients. They make lovely, thoughtful gifts or a special addition to your festive table, a simple way to share something meaningful with friends and family. The idea behind both the calendars and crackers is the same: to bring calm, connection and intention back into the season. It’s easy to forget that December doesn’t have to be about doing more. It can be about feeling more, more peace, more joy, more presence. Crystal Christmas Crackers If you’d like to see the full range, you can come along to one of my Coffee & Crystals mornings or Open House events . They’re relaxed, friendly days where you can browse, chat and enjoy a calm cup of coffee surrounded by positive energy. You’ll be able to see the advents and crackers in person, along with my wider collection of crystals and gifts that aren’t yet available online. If you can’t make it in person, you can also order via DM on my social channels to create your own bespoke calendar or gift set. I hope these little rituals bring you the same peace they bring me, a few minutes each day to pause, reconnect and notice the quiet kind of magic that this season can hold. Here’s to a December that feels calm, connected and just a little bit magical.
- The Energy of Letting Go: Crystals to Support You as the Year Closes
Golden Labradorite Crystals to Support You as the Year Closes As November draws to a close, there’s a quiet shift that starts to happen. The light changes, the days shorten and life begins to slow down. This is often the time when we naturally start to reflect on what the year has brought us, what we’ve outgrown, and what we’re ready to release before the new year begins. This softer energy can feel emotional or uncertain, especially if the year has been full of change. But it can also feel peaceful, like a chance to exhale and let go of the things you no longer need to carry. Crystals can support this process beautifully, helping you stay grounded and clear while you move through reflection and release. Smoky Quartz Smoky Quartz Smoky Quartz is one of my favourite crystals for this time of year. It’s deeply grounding and protective, helping to clear old energy and emotional clutter. It’s particularly helpful if you’ve felt stuck or heavy, as it brings your focus back to the present moment. Hold it in your hand during journalling or meditation, or keep a piece by the front door to remind you to leave stress behind when you step inside. Black Tourmaline Black Tourmaline Black Tourmaline offers protection and stability. It’s the crystal I suggest for anyone who feels easily drained by other people’s energy. It acts as a shield, strengthening your boundaries and helping you feel safe in your own space. Keep it near your bed for better rest or in your pocket when you need extra steadiness during the day. Labradorite Labradorite Labradorite helps with change and transition. It reminds you that endings are simply new beginnings in disguise. The shifting colours within it symbolise the light within transformation, making it a perfect companion when you’re releasing old habits or situations that no longer serve you. When life feels uncertain, Labradorite helps you stay open to possibility. Brandberg Quartz Brandberg Quartz Brandberg Quartz is a crystal of deep emotional renewal. It works gently on the heart, helping you release sadness, grief or old attachments. Inside some pieces you can see tiny air bubbles of ancient water, a reminder that even what feels stuck can begin to move again. Hold it close to your heart when you need comfort or stillness. Hematite Hematite Hematite grounds energy into the body. It’s ideal for those times when your mind is busy but your body feels disconnected. I often recommend it for anyone who feels anxious or unsettled, as it helps draw scattered thoughts back into focus. Place it on your desk while working or in your pocket when you’re out and about to keep your energy balanced. Creating your own release ritual You don’t need anything elaborate to mark the close of the year. I often suggest a simple ritual of reflection and release. Light a candle, take a few slow breaths and hold a crystal that feels grounding to you. Think about what you’re ready to let go of, then imagine that energy dissolving into the light. You can write a few words about what you’re releasing and burn or tear the paper to symbolise letting go. Afterwards, spend a few minutes focusing on what you’d like to welcome instead. Peace, balance, gratitude or rest. Let your crystal absorb that intention. The gift of slowing down Letting go isn’t always easy, but it’s what allows new energy to arrive. Crystals help to hold you steady during that process, giving you both grounding and perspective. This is the time of year to slow down, to recharge, and to come back to yourself before the busyness of December begins. Whether you spend the evening journalling, walking, or simply sitting quietly with your favourite crystal, give yourself permission to release what’s ready to move on. If you’d like to explore which crystals could support you during this reflective season, you can visit me at one of my upcoming events, book a private crystal prescription or energy healing session , or shop online to find the pieces that feel right for you. Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do for our energy is simply let go.
- Crystals for Calm
Finding Stillness on Stress Awareness Day and Beyond Amethyst Stress Awareness Day always feels like an important pause in the year. It reminds us that calm isn’t something that just happens, it’s something we create space for. So many people I meet, whether in healing sessions or at events, tell me they’re tired but can’t slow down. Their minds are full, their bodies tense, and they’re carrying far more than they realise. Crystals aren’t a quick fix for stress, but they can help bring awareness back to the body and calm to the mind. The right crystal acts like an anchor, helping you settle when life feels unsettled. Understanding stress as energy When we’re stressed, our energy field becomes scattered. We might feel jumpy, distracted or disconnected from ourselves. Calming crystals help to realign that energy so we can breathe properly again, think clearly and release what doesn’t belong to us. Here are some of the crystals I often recommend for stress and overwhelm, along with simple ways to use them. Celestite Celestite Celestite is one of the gentlest crystals I work with. Its soft blue tone feels like a deep breath for the nervous system. I reach for it when someone feels overstimulated, anxious or close to tears without knowing why. Celestite works through the throat and crown chakras, easing tension and quietening racing thoughts. Keep it beside your bed to support sleep or hold it against your chest when you need to exhale. Lepidolite Lepidolite Lepidolite is naturally rich in lithium, the mineral used in some anti-anxiety medicines, which gives it a calm, balancing energy. It helps to steady emotions and smooth out mood swings. I often suggest it for people going through change or those who struggle to switch off at night. Place it under your pillow or carry a small piece in your pocket during stressful days. Selenite Selenite Selenite clears what feels heavy. It doesn’t absorb energy, it moves it, helping your aura and environment stay light. It’s perfect for those moments when you walk into a room and feel instantly drained or when your own thoughts become too loud. Keep a wand near your workspace or a small tower by your bedside. It restores a sense of peace and brings clarity when everything feels too much. Howlite White Howlite Howlite brings stillness to an overactive mind. It’s brilliant for anyone who struggles with racing thoughts or feels restless before sleep. You can place it under your pillow or use it in meditation to quiet mental noise. I also find it helps during long days when your mind is jumping from task to task. It reminds you to slow down and take one thing at a time. Amethyst Amethyst Amethyst is one of the best crystals for emotional balance. It carries a soft, protective energy that supports both calm and clarity. I use it often in energy healing sessions when someone’s energy feels scattered. It helps to restore boundaries and reconnects you to your centre. A simple way to use it is to hold it at your heart, breathe deeply and imagine your energy settling back into place. A simple daily practice If you’re feeling tense, take a few minutes to breathe with a crystal that feels calming to you. Hold it in your hand and imagine a wave of light travelling through your body, releasing tension as it moves. Notice where you’ve been holding stress, in your jaw, shoulders or stomach, and allow that energy to soften. Even one minute of awareness can begin to shift how you feel. A note from my healing room When I work with clients, I often notice that stress builds up gradually until the body finally insists on slowing down. It can show up as headaches, tiredness, irritability or emotional numbness. Crystals help by reminding your energy to move again, gently releasing the build-up and bringing you back to stillness. I also combine crystals like Celestite and Selenite in sound healing sessions, letting the vibration of the tuning forks move through them. The combination creates a wave of calm that helps the nervous system reset. Bringing calm into your space You don’t need a full crystal collection to find balance. One or two pieces you connect with are enough. Keep them where you’ll see them, on your bedside table, your desk or in your pocket, so they act as gentle reminders to slow down. Calm is a practice, not a finish line. Some days you’ll find it easily, other days it will take effort. What matters is giving yourself permission to stop, breathe and come back to yourself. If you’d like to explore which crystals could support you personally, you can meet me in person at one of my upcoming events, book a private crystal prescription or energy healing session , or shop online to find the pieces that call to you. Peace doesn’t always come naturally, but it can always be found again.
- How to Work with Super Seven During the November Supermoon
Super Seven The November Supermoon always feels like a turning point. Its light is brighter, its pull stronger, and its energy more noticeable than usual. Supermoons tend to amplify everything, emotions, intuition and the intentions we set beneath them. This month’s Beaver Supermoon, on 5 November, invites us to pause, release what feels heavy and open space for clarity. One crystal that mirrors this kind of energy perfectly is Super Seven , also known as Melody’s Stone . It’s made up of seven minerals: amethyst, clear quartz, smoky quartz, goethite, lepidocrocite, cacoxenite and rutile. Each one works on a different layer of the energy field, which is why Super Seven is known for aligning and activating all seven chakras at once. It’s a crystal that doesn’t whisper. It resonates. When I work with Super Seven during full moons, it feels as though it meets the intensity of lunar energy with equal strength, helping to channel that power into calm, balanced awareness. The energy of the Supermoon Supermoons heighten awareness. They bring emotions to the surface and often highlight what we’ve been avoiding, not to unsettle us, but to help us release what we’ve outgrown. The Beaver Moon connects with purpose and preparation, guiding us to clear space before the stillness of winter. You might find yourself more sensitive under this moon, or noticing themes of completion. It’s a good time for reflection, journalling, or simply sitting quietly and letting go of what no longer feels right. Why Super Seven works so well Because Super Seven contains such a blend of minerals, it brings together grounding and expansion. Amethyst and smoky quartz steady emotions. Clear quartz and rutile enhance focus and amplify intention. Lepidocrocite and goethite support emotional repair. Cacoxenite connects you with higher insight and awareness. Together they create an energy that feels aligned and centred. When everything around you feels heightened, Super Seven helps you stay open without being overwhelmed. Super Seven with Backlight How to work with Super Seven You don’t need a long ritual. What matters most is intention. Find a quiet space and cleanse it using sound, incense or breath. Hold your crystal in both hands and take a few slow breaths. Imagine the light of the moon pouring through your crown and into your heart. Ask for clarity on whatever feels uncertain. Set your intention and place the crystal where the moonlight can reach it. The next morning, take a few minutes to notice any shifts in your thoughts or feelings. I often place a Super Seven at the centre of my sound healing grid during the Supermoon. The crystal seems to hum along with the tuning forks, balancing the frequencies in the room and grounding emotional release. It feels alive, calm and present all at once. Many clients describe Super Seven as a “reset” stone. It helps them reconnect with their own guidance when life feels noisy or directionless. I think of it as a bridge between higher awareness and everyday life, helping you stay rooted while your energy expands. Supermoons can feel intense, but they’re not here to overwhelm. They’re an opportunity to notice what’s changing and to meet that awareness with gentleness. If you prefer a softer vibration, you can pair Super Seven with Selenite or Rose Quartz for balance and ease. The light of the Supermoon reminds us that reflection helps us see what needs our attention. Crystals simply help us hold that light and work with it. If you’d like to experience this energy in person, you can meet me at one of my upcoming events, visit for a private crystal prescription or energy healing session , or shop online to find the Super Seven that feels right for you. The moon may be bright, but your own light is just as powerful.
- Crystal events
The Last Few Months of the Year Always Sneak Up on Me I don’t know about you, but the last part of the year always seems to creep up before I’m ready. One minute we’re enjoying the late summer sunshine and the next I’m pulling out my diary and realising just how much there is to share before the year is out. The next few months are full of events, fairs, and workshops, and I’m really looking forward to them. There are Coffee & Crystals mornings as usual. The next one is 4th October , where you can pop in for a cuppa and a browse. I’ll also be holding my Christmas shopping events in December, which have become a bit of a tradition now. I feel very lucky to have been invited to some wonderful shows and exhibitions this year, including the South of England Mineral Show on 18–19 October and the London Gem & Mineral Show at Farnborough on 22–23 November . These events are always buzzing with energy, and I’ll be bringing a wide range of pieces with me. Hopefully I’ll see lots of you there. Halloween is always a fun time, and I’ll be holding my Crystal Skull Workshop on 31st October . This one is a favourite of mine, as crystal skulls hold such a powerful energy. It’s a beautiful way to connect at this time of year. From there it’s straight into fair season with the Parmiter’s Christmas Gift Fair on 15th November , the Ashlyns Craft Fair in Berkhamsted on 16th November , Chesham Grammar Shopping Event on the 26th November and of course The Grove on 27th November , which is always so beautiful at Christmas. And yes, my advent calendars and bespoke gift boxes will be back again this year for anyone who would like something a little more personal, including Diwali and Hanukkah gifts if you’re planning ahead. It’s a lot, but it’s also such a joyful part of the year for me. I love being able to meet so many of you in person, whether it’s at a local craft fair, a mineral show, or over a cup of tea while we talk crystals. Every event has its own energy, and it feels special to carry the year out together in that way. I’ll keep sharing reminders here and on social media as each date comes closer, so you know where to find me. If you’ve had your eye on something, want to pick up gifts, or just fancy soaking up the energy of the crystals, I’d love to see you at one of the events.
- crystals that support seasonal shifts
When the Clocks Go Back Some people dread the clocks going back. The evenings draw in, mornings feel darker, and suddenly it really does feel like winter is on the way. I have to admit, I quite like the shift. There’s something cosy about it, roast dinners, candles, crisp autumn walks, pumpkins on the doorstep. But even though I enjoy those things, I still notice how the change affects me. Our bodies and moods are tied to light more than we realise, and when that disappears earlier in the day, we feel it. For some it’s just a bit of tiredness or restlessness. For others it can be heavier, low mood, lack of motivation, or what’s known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). It’s really common and nothing to feel bad about. Less light affects our body’s rhythm, and it can take time to adjust. How it shows up Dark evenings can leave us yawning before dinner, yet still tossing and turning once we finally get into bed. Afternoon energy dips are more noticeable, and it’s easy to lose a bit of spark or motivation. Sensitive souls often feel it the most, like being pulled slightly off balance. This isn’t about pushing through or pretending it doesn’t happen. It’s about finding little ways to soften the change so it feels kinder. Crystals that support seasonal shifts There are a few stones I always come back to at this time of year. Moonstone Moonstone – I think of this as the stone of rhythm. If your sleep or mood feels unsettled, Moonstone can help bring you back into flow. Selenite Selenite – Pure, clear light in crystal form. It lifts heavy energy and brightens a space, especially if the darker days feel a bit gloomy indoors. Black Tourmaline Black Tourmaline – Steady and grounding. It helps when everything feels a bit unsettled and keeps your energy from being drained. Sunstone Sunstone – My favourite for mornings. It carries the warmth of the sun and gives you that extra boost of joy and motivation when the days feel flat. Clear Quartz Clear Quartz – A gentle all-rounder. It balances energy and amplifies the other stones, so I often keep it close alongside whatever else I’m using. Little practices for this season Crystals are one way of supporting yourself, but I also find that small daily rituals make all the difference. Getting outside in the morning light if you can, even for a few minutes, really helps your body adjust. Making your evenings cosy with candles, warm drinks, and a grounding practice can change the way you feel about the dark. This is also a lovely time of year for Reiki or sound healing. Both can bring your energy back into balance and ease the restlessness that often comes with the shift. The tuning forks in particular, are so calming when your body feels out of sync. Leaning into the season The clock change is part of the natural rhythm, even if it takes us a while to catch up with it. Instead of dreading it, I try to lean into what this season offers: rest, reflection, and a different kind of light. With a few supports in place, the darker months don’t have to feel heavy. They can be gentle, grounding, and even a little magical.
- A Supermoon for Super Release
On the night of 6th and 7th October we’ll see a Super Hunter’s Moon. The Hunter’s Moon is the full moon that comes after the Harvest Moon, once used as a guide for gathering what was needed to carry people through the colder months. This year it comes as a supermoon, closer to the Earth, brighter and more powerful. You may notice the energy of this one more strongly than usual. It’s also the first in a series of three supermoons. Think of it as the start of a cycle. What you let go of now sets the tone for the months ahead. You don’t need to do everything at once, but beginning the process here creates space that will carry through into November and December. Full moons are always about release. They bring things to the surface so that we can see them clearly. When it’s a supermoon, the volume is turned up. Emotions may run higher, sleep can be unsettled, and old habits or thoughts might suddenly feel louder. This isn’t something to fight against. It’s an invitation to notice what no longer feels right and allow yourself to put it down. The pull of October's Supermoon October is when we naturally turn inward. The equinox has passed, the days are shorter, and nature is beginning its own quiet retreat. This moon mirrors that rhythm. It’s asking us to clear space, to let go of the weight we don’t need to carry into winter, and to move into the darker half of the year with more ease. Letting go doesn’t always mean dramatic change. Sometimes it’s as simple as loosening your grip on an old worry, stepping back from an obligation, or clearing out a habit that no longer feels supportive. Whatever it looks like for you, this moon offers the space to do it gently. Crystals to support you Crystals can be a steady support when working with lunar energy. They don’t just sit beside us, their vibration interacts with our own, helping us to release, ground, and soften. Here are four I recommend working with during this Super Hunter’s Moon. Smoky Quartz Smoky Quartz This stone is a natural cleanser for the energy field. It works almost like a filter, drawing out what feels heavy, stagnant, or clouded, and sending it back to the earth to be transformed. Smoky Quartz is grounding too, helping you feel steady and safe while you let go. It’s a good one to hold in meditation or keep by your feet during ritual, as it anchors energy downwards. Obsidian Obsidian Obsidian is sometimes called the stone of truth. It reflects back what we may have been avoiding, making it powerful for shadow work. While this can feel confronting, Obsidian also brings strong protection, so you don’t have to fear what you find. It helps you meet your own shadows with courage, showing you what needs to be released without judgement. Amethyst Amethyst Amethyst is like a deep breath when emotions are running high. It soothes the nervous system, clears the mind, and brings a sense of calm that can feel like relief during a supermoon. Amethyst is also connected to spiritual clarity, helping you see the bigger picture rather than getting lost in the swirl of emotion. It’s a beautiful stone to keep by your bed if the full moon tends to disturb your sleep. Lepidolite Lepidolite Known as a stone of gentle transition, Lepidolite supports us through emotional shifts. It contains natural lithium, which gives it a stabilising quality. When everything feels amplified under a supermoon, Lepidolite encourages balance and compassion for ourselves. It’s a reminder that we don’t have to force change — we can move through it softly, step by step. You can choose one stone to work with or bring them together. Place them on an altar, carry them through the day, or simply sit with one in your palm and breathe. Trust your intuition to guide you towards what you need most. A simple release ritual Here’s a gentle way to work with the energy of the Super Hunter’s Moon. Cleanse your space. Light some palo santo and allow the smoke to move around the room, clearing the atmosphere and creating a calm setting. Choose a crystal. Let yourself be drawn to one of the stones above. There is no wrong choice. Settle in. Light a candle or sit by a window where you can see the moonlight if the sky is clear. Write it down. On a piece of paper, jot down what you feel ready to release. It could be a habit, a thought, or a feeling. Sit with your crystal. Hold it in your hand, close your eyes, and take a few slow breaths. Imagine the moonlight surrounding you, filling your body and energy field. Offer it up. As you breathe, see what you’ve written being lifted away by the light of the moon. You can burn the paper safely afterwards, or tear it into pieces, as a way of letting it go. The ritual doesn’t need to be grand. Your intention is enough. Moving gently into autumn This moon is a reminder that endings are part of the natural rhythm. Just as the trees shed their leaves, we too can let go of what has run its course. By releasing even a little now, we create space for rest, healing, and new beginnings when the time is right. Because this is the first of three supermoons, you don’t have to feel pressure to do it all at once. This is only the beginning. The next moons will give you more chances to refine and deepen what you’ve started here. If this moon stirs up strong emotions, be kind to yourself. Rest if you need to, write if it helps, and let your crystals hold you steady. Release is its own kind of healing, and under this October sky you are supported in letting go.
- Statement Crystals
