Sound Healing Workshops and Courses Near Watford, Hertfordshire

5 min read

I run sound healing workshops and tuning fork courses from my home in Watford, Hertfordshire, for everyone from complete beginners through to qualified practitioners who want to add sound to their existing work. Some are half a day. Some are certified practitioner training that runs across several days. They all start in the same place, which is putting a tuning fork in your hand and letting you hear what it does.

Below is everything I currently teach, what each one costs, and who it is for.

What sound healing with tuning forks actually involves

Sound Healing Courses & Workshops

If you have never come across this before, the short version is that tuning forks produce a specific frequency, and that frequency can be worked with on and around the body. Some forks are weighted and are used on the body. Others are unweighted and are used in the space around it. Different forks do different jobs, and a large part of any training with me is learning which is which and why it matters.

There is no requirement to have any background in healing to start. Plenty of people come to the introductory sessions purely because they are curious, or because they want something they can use on themselves at the end of a difficult week.

Sound healing workshops

Introduction to Sound Healing

One day. £88.

Sound Healing Courses & Workshops

A practical workshop working with tuning forks, drums, singing bowls and more. We cover the history of sound healing and the main modalities, then move into the forks themselves, weighted against unweighted, and which you would reach for in different situations. There is hands-on practice with all three instruments, and time set aside to simply experience the sound rather than analyse it.

One of the forks we use is the OM tuning fork, which is a good one to meet early because most people feel something with it straight away.

All tuning forks used in the workshop are available to buy on the day, so you are not obliged to buy anything in advance to take part.

Tuning Fork Refresher Workshop

Half day. £45. Next date Saturday 19 September, 10am to 2pm.

Sound Healing Courses & Workshops

This is for anyone who has already trained with forks and has not picked them up in a while. You did the course, you meant to keep the practice going, and then life took over. Four hours to go back over technique, work through whatever has slipped, and leave using them again rather than intending to.

If you do not own a set, or never bought one, I have forks you can borrow for the day.

Sound healing courses

Sound Healing Tuning for Self-Care

Two consecutive days in person, or four parts online via Zoom. £333, including tuning forks, manual and certificate of attendance.

Sound Healing Courses & Workshops

This is the foundation course and the one most people start with. It covers sound healing history, theory and practice, how to create a safe space for your own practice, an overview of anatomy and physiology as it relates to sound healing, the seven main chakras, and tuning fork techniques and protocols for self-care.

The emphasis is on using this in your actual life rather than in a treatment room. You leave with your own forks and a practice you can keep up.

Sound Healing Tuning Forks for Qualified Healing Practitioners

For anyone already qualified in another healing modality who wants to add tuning forks to client sessions.

Sound Healing Courses & Workshops

This is a certified course that gives you the working basics without going to the depth of the full practitioner training. If you are already practising Reiki, massage, or another therapy and want another dimension to what you offer, this is the shorter route in.

Sound Healing Tuning Fork Practitioner

Three consecutive days of teaching plus a further assessment day. £630, including tuning forks, manual and certificate.

Sound Healing Courses & Workshops

The full certification, suitable once you have completed Tuning for Self-Care or an equivalent course elsewhere. We cover clinical treatment protocols for client work, single and dual tuning fork techniques, working with meridian points, and how to integrate the forks into other professional modalities.

Certification requires attendance and assessment, ongoing tutor assessment throughout, submission of client case studies covering both single and dual fork techniques, a written reflective journal, evidence of anatomy and physiology training, and a current Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

That list is longer than some providers ask for, and deliberately so. If you are going to put your hands on other people, you should be properly prepared for it.

Where the workshops are held

Everything runs from my home in Watford, Hertfordshire. It is 17 minutes from Central London and close to the M25 and M1, so it is straightforward to get to from St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Rickmansworth, Harrow, Bushey and the surrounding area.

Groups are kept small. Courses can also be delivered at a venue of your choice, and I run bespoke one-to-one training built around your own experience or your business.

The Tuning for Self-Care course is also available over Zoom, split into four parts, for anyone who cannot travel, or if there are several of you, we can discuss whether I can come to you.

Accreditation

I am an IPHM approved training provider and a member of the Complementary Medical Association.

My own sound training includes Suara Sound Ambassador and Suara Sound Ambassador Teacher, both BCMA accredited, and I hold Tuning Fork Practitioner and Tuning Fork Teacher qualifications.

Common questions

Do I need my own tuning forks to start? No. The Self-Care and Practitioner courses both include your forks in the price. The Introduction to Sound Healing workshop uses mine, with the option to buy on the day. For the refresher workshop I can lend you a set.

Do I need any previous experience? Not for the workshops or for Tuning for Self-Care. The Practitioner course requires Tuning for Self-Care or a similar course first.

Are the courses accredited? Yes. I am an IPHM approved training provider, and certification is issued on completion of the course requirements.

Can I do this online? Tuning for Self-Care runs over Zoom in four parts. The practitioner training and the workshops are in person, because the hands-on element cannot be taught any other way.

Where exactly is it? Watford, Hertfordshire. Full address is given on booking.

Getting in touch & booking sound healing workshops and courses

If you are not sure which of these is the right starting point, tell me a bit about where you are and what you want to be able to do, and I will point you at the one that fits. Some people want a single day to see what it is about. Others know from the outset that they want to practise professionally.

Message me and we will work out which of those you are.
